Melbourne Cup Day Outfit Inspiration: The Jewellery That Completes Your Look

Melbourne Cup Day Outfit Inspiration: The Jewellery That Completes Your Look

Melbourne Cup Day is almost here!

And you know what that means...

Beautiful dresses, fabulous fascinators, colourful outfits and, of course, the perfect jewellery to bring everything together.

I LOVE this time of year because it's one of those occasions when you can have a little more fun with fashion.

A bright pink dress? Absolutely.

A huge floral fascinator? Why not?!

Statement earrings that might be a little too much for your usual Tuesday morning? PERFECT. 😂

So I thought I'd put together some Melbourne Cup Day outfit inspiration featuring our handmade Soulehe jewellery.

And I have some exciting news to share at the end, because this year Soulehe jewellery will also be part of a special local Cup Day event in Griffith!

Melbourne Cup Day Outfit Inspiration

When putting together a Melbourne Cup Day outfit, most of us start with the dress.

Then comes the fascinator, shoes, handbag...

And somewhere along the way, we need to decide on jewellery.

But personally, I think jewellery can completely change an outfit.

The right earrings can bring out the colours in your dress, complement your fascinator and make the whole look feel finished.

So here are some of my favourite combinations.

Pretty in Pink

Pink, pink and MORE pink. 🩷

I absolutely love this combination.

A beautiful floral pink dress, a statement fascinator and our pink handmade earrings.

And for those who love matching accessories, adding a soft pink crystal bracelet makes the look even sweeter.

It's feminine, playful and perfect for a colourful Cup Day outfit.

My styling tip: If your dress has several shades of pink, don't worry about matching your jewellery to one exact shade. Choosing earrings that pick up a few of those colours can bring the whole outfit together.

Soft Yellow & Floral Details

Okay, this combination is SO beautiful.

A soft yellow floral dress with matching handmade floral earrings.

The little flower details on these earrings make them feel extra special without being too much.

And that's one of the things I love about our Artisan Collection.

You can find earrings that don't just match the colour of your outfit but actually complement its design.

A floral dress with floral earrings?

YES PLEASE.

Elegant Blue & Grey

Not everyone wants to wear bright pink or yellow.

And that's completely fine!

Soft blue and grey tones can look incredibly elegant for Melbourne Cup Day.

For this look, I've paired a beautiful blue-grey floral dress with our handmade statement earrings in similar tones.

The earrings add texture and detail while keeping the whole outfit soft and sophisticated.

I especially love this combination for someone who prefers a more understated colour palette but still wants something a little different.

Green & Nature-Inspired Jewellery

Green lovers, this one's for you. 💚

There's something so beautiful about a soft green floral outfit paired with handmade earrings inspired by nature.

The combination feels fresh, elegant and a little different from the usual race-day colours.

And with so many different shades of green, from sage to deeper emerald tones, there are plenty of ways to create your own look.

These are also the kind of earrings you can wear again with a simple white dress or an everyday outfit.

Because beautiful jewellery shouldn't only come out once a year!

Colourful Statement Earrings

And now for the people who LOVE colour.

If you're wearing a bright, colourful dress, you don't necessarily need to choose simple jewellery.

Sometimes adding another colourful piece makes the outfit even better.

Our handmade Artisan earrings come in a range of colour combinations, including pinks, blues, greens and other playful designs.

And honestly, I think Melbourne Cup Day is the perfect excuse to wear something a little bolder than usual.

Red & Pink: Make a Statement

Ohhhh, these colours!

Red and pink together are such a fun combination.

They're bright, confident and definitely not going unnoticed.

Whether you choose a larger statement design or something a little more delicate, colourful earrings can make even a simple outfit feel special.

And if you're already wearing a bold dress and fascinator?

Sometimes MORE really is more. 😂

What Makes Soulehe's Artisan Collection Different?

If you've been following Soulehe for a while, you've probably seen some of my handmade Artisan earrings before.

But if you're new here, let me tell you a little about them.

The Soulehe Artisan Collection is all about individually handmade earrings, unique colours and designs you won't find everywhere else.

Each pair starts with polymer clay, which I work with by hand to create different shapes, colours and patterns.

The process includes shaping, baking, sanding, polishing and finishing the earrings.

And depending on the design, it can take several days to complete a pair.

One of my favourite things about this collection is that no two handmade pairs are ever exactly identical.

Even when I create earrings using the same colours and design, there can be little differences in the patterns and details.

Which means your pair really is your own.

And for an occasion like Melbourne Cup Day, when everyone is putting together their own special outfit, I think that's pretty perfect.

How to Choose Earrings for Your Melbourne Cup Day Outfit

One thing I always tell people is that you don't need to match absolutely everything.

Sometimes the best combination is simply the one that makes you feel beautiful.

If your dress is already full of patterns and colours, you can choose earrings that pick up one of those colours.

If your dress is quite simple, a larger statement earring can become the main feature.

And if you're wearing a big fascinator, think about how your earrings will look alongside it.

You want the pieces to complement each other rather than compete for attention.

Although, let's be honest, Melbourne Cup Day is probably one of the few days when we can get away with being a little extra. 😂

Exciting News! Soulehe x NEHMA at Griffith's Melbourne Cup Day Event

And now for something I've been SO excited to share!

This year, Soulehe jewellery will be featured on the models presenting NEHMA's Silk Collection at the Melbourne Cup Day event at Griffith Leagues Club on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.

How exciting is that?!

I've been working with NEHMA to select jewellery to complement the beautiful silk designs, and I can't wait to see the finished looks.

There's something really special about seeing pieces I've made here in Griffith become part of another local creative's collection.

And I love that this collaboration brings fashion and handmade jewellery together.

We've already been choosing and planning the jewellery combinations, but I'm keeping the finished looks a little bit of a surprise for now. 👀

I can't wait to share more photos and videos once the models are wearing everything!
